San Francisco – Yosemite Tour

San Francisco
Depart from Los Angeles, cruise through the Pacific Coast Highway and head on to the beautiful quaint Danish village – Solvang. The city of Solvang lies in the heart of Santa Ynez Valley on California’s Central Coast. You’ll catch a glimpse of Denmark in California. As it is common with Danish tradition, you’ll see the presence of a stork on a rooftop that according to folklore wards off lightning and brings good luck. Good fortune continues to smile on Solvang today. Visitors are drawn into Scandinavian culture as they stroll the flower-lined streets or step into authentic bakeries, restaurants, shops and galleries.
From Solvang, we take you to one of the world’s greatest showplace – Hearst castle. You can feel the allure of the magnificent Mediterranean style estate where Mr. Hearst entertained movie stars and business tycoons with lavish dinners, film screening and glittering parties. Highly recommendable is taking Hearst Castle’s Experience Tour. (This is an optional tour of the castle and is not included with the price of the tour.)
The day stops with your arrival to San Francisco and an overnight stay in a designated hotel.
Day 2:
Start the morning with a visit to the Golden Gate Bridge. Explore the magnitude of the suspension bridge which was completed during the year of 1937 and has been internationally recognized as the symbol of San Francisco and california. Ranked fifth on the List of America’s Favorite Architecture, it spans the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay on to the Pacific Ocean. You could also take the optional San Francisco Cruise that sail along San Francisco’s breath taking waterfront, under the majestic Golden Gate and around the notorious Alcatraz Island – (this is an optional tour). If you decide not to take the cruise, you can stroll along the Fisherman’s wharf and enjoy the scenic docks.
You get to enjoy a walk of Lombard Street. Lombard Street is best known for the one way section on Russian Hill between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets where the road has sharp turns, 8 in all. It has earned the distinction of being the most crooked or winding street in the world. This was because of the necessity to make it easier to navigate the hill’s steep grade of 27 degrees.
You’ll also enjoy the visit to the Palace of Fine Arts. The sculptured frieze and allegorical figures representing Contemplation, Wonderment and Meditation were one of only two buildings from the exposition not to be demolished.
We head towards Modesto for the evening rest stay.
Day 3:
Starts with a ride to Yosemite – internationally recognized for its spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, Giant Sequoia groves, and biological diversity. It contains thousands of lakes and ponds, granitic rocks, falls and river beds. Yosemite is famous for the number of waterfalls in a such a small area. Numerous drops and hanging valleys provide many places for waterfalls to exist specially during the snowmelting season.
We then head back to Los Angeles for the return trip to Los Angeles.
